1. Who we are
oishee is a Japanese private chef and meal prep service in London, run by Oishee Foods Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17234486), with its registered office at The Mill House, Bridges Stone, Worcester, WR6 5HR. We are responsible for the personal information described here. Contact us about anything in this policy by email at oishee.will@gmail.com or on WhatsApp on +44 7523 819159.
2. What we collect
- When you book: your name, email, phone number, address and postcode, the plan, dishes, dates and times you choose, any notes for your chef, and whether you prefer WhatsApp or email.
- Allergies and dietary needs: only if you tell us, and only with your permission, because this is health information (see section 4).
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We see the amount, whether it was paid and the last four digits of your card, never your full card details.
- If you message us: what you send us by WhatsApp, email or Instagram.
- Referrals: your referral code, and which bookings used it, so we can give you and your friends the discounts. If a friend uses your code, we can see that they were referred by you.
- If you join our waiting list: your email address and the postcode area you want us to cover.
- When you use the website: with your permission, how you use it, through Google Analytics (see section 8).
3. How we use it, and why we are allowed to
UK data protection law requires a lawful reason for each use. Ours are:
- To take and carry out your booking, including matching you with a chef and keeping you updated: because it is needed for our contract with you.
- To take payments and keep accounting records: for the contract, and because the law requires us to keep financial records.
- To cook around allergies and dietary needs: with your explicit consent.
- To tell you when we reach your area, if you join the waiting list: with your consent.
- To understand how the website is used and improve it: with your consent to analytics cookies.
We don't send marketing without your permission, and we never sell your information.
4. Allergy and dietary information
Allergy and dietary information is health data, which the law protects more strictly. We only keep it if you tick the box giving us permission when you book. We use it only to cook for you safely, share it only with the chef cooking for you, and delete it 12 months after your last visit, or sooner if you ask.
You can withdraw your permission at any time by telling us. We would then delete the information, and could no longer cook around it.
6. Information sent outside the UK
Some of these companies, including Stripe, Google, Meta and Netlify, may process information in the United States or elsewhere. When they do, it is protected by the UK's adequacy arrangements or by contracts approved under UK law.
7. How long we keep it
- Booking and payment records: six years, as UK tax law requires.
- Allergy and dietary information: 12 months after your last visit, or sooner if you ask.
- Messages: as long as we need them to deal with your booking or question.
- Waiting list: until we reach your area, or until you ask to be removed.
- Analytics: Google Analytics keeps usage data for up to 14 months.
9. Your rights
You have the right to:
- get a copy of the information we hold about you
- have it corrected if it is wrong
- have it deleted, unless we have to keep it, for example for tax records
- object to, or ask us to limit, how we use it
- receive it in a format you can take elsewhere
- withdraw any permission you have given
Email oishee.will@gmail.com to use any of these. We will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113, though we would like the chance to put it right first.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
